The Greens are supporting today’s ‘sit in’ at High Cross Park by repeating their call on both the State Government and Opposition to accept Randwick Council’s proposal to move the light rail interchange down into High Street.
Greens candidate for Coogee Lindsay Shurey lodged the successful Council motion that set up the working group of Councillors, staff and consultants to establish the feasibility of moving the facility.
She today before the sit in commenced,
“The Council working group set up by my motion has put together a detailed proposal for a new interchange location in High Street that would save High Cross Park, provide a stop outside POW and would be cheaper to build.
I call on the State Minister for Transport and the Opposition Transport Spokesperson to give pre-election promises that if in Government they will move the interchange to High Street as proposed by Randwick Council.”
